A Conversation With Rowena Cherry
Can a famous chess term provide the basis for a red-hot romance novel?
Former chess champion Rowena Cherry thought it might, and her futuristic
romance novel, Forced Mate (LoveSpell) was a finalist in the Romantic Times
and Dorchester Publishing New Voice in Romance Contest and a finalist for a
PEARL Award for Best Futuristic Romance. Forced Mate breaks new ground
in the genre by taking a Regency royal abduction plot and setting it in
a high-tech feudal background. Her crisp writing style, naughty sense of humor and
fast pacing have made Rowena Cherry a hit with fans and reviewers. Rowena spoke
with us about Forced Mate, why contests can be a writer's best tool, and
how her sense of humor can sometimes get her into trouble.
